Update from Andre 0429 065 709
Hi all,
As you know, our IT service has been provided by Biz-Lynx for a number of years. We are now coming to the end of the contract with Biz-Lynx and will need to find alternative ways to manage our IT.
In order or to ensure that our service is not disrupted in any way, can I ask that you follow these instructions. The aim here is to set up a link that will give us all access to our files which we have saved on the S-drive.
The reason that you are receiving this message here instead of email, is just to ensure that we reduce any chances of disruption to our IT access over the coming days.
Step 1: Moving away from using Thin Clients, using laptops only
From Wednesday 21st September onwards, please stop using your Thin Clients.
As of Wednesday 21st September please only use your laptops.
This will mean that you will need to bring your laptop in to work and use that instead. For most of us this is what we are doing already, so there's no change needed for most. However, if you are using a Thin Client, please switch to start using your laptop instead.
Note:
You can connect your laptops to your monitor and use your laptops in the same way that you would use any other computer. If you need help with this please contact Diane or I.
Step 2: Accessing Files on the Server
1. For the time being, continue to access the server as you normally would from your laptop.
a. If you are using the SSCLS WI-FI, just click the icon on your desktop and log in

b. If you are working from home/ outside of the SSCLS WI-FI, then log in to the VPN first.
2. In preparation for any changes, please set up a new Remote Desktop login. To do that, click the link below and download the instructions. There are 13 steps to follow.
If you have any problems with this, please contact our NEW TEMPORARY IT HELP DESK. The number to call is 1300 769 859. This support is being provided by iQuest.
Please do not contact Biz-Lynx for support on this issue. iQuest is the only number to contact that can assist.
If you have any questions please feel free to call or speak directly with Diane or Andre.
3. Over the coming days I’ll send out further updates, but always feel free to contact me directly if you have any questions.
Regards
Andre
